Our Team
Her Solid Ground is founded and driven by four passionate indivduals with the right mix of experience and capabilities.
Kate Sellick
Board Chair and Operations Director
Kate Sellick wears two vital hats for our charity as Board Chair and Operations Director, helping to design and manage our supportive micro-communities. Kate is a naturally organized problem solver who spent years as a business development coach before taking a career break to raise her family. Today, she combines her business management diploma with her training credentials to support local children in the education system. Kate’s passion for our mission stems from her own journey as a single mother, giving her firsthand insight into the exact housing and financial gaps our charity solves. When she isn't busy building safe spaces for families or staying active outdoors, Kate is a proud mum cheering on her kids.
Amelia King
Managing Director
Amelia King is the Managing Director of Her Solid Ground, bringing over 13 years of leadership, research, and consulting experience across the health, justice, and social services sectors. A specialist in human-centred program design, Amelia previously worked as a management consultant delivering complex social infrastructure projects. She holds an MBA from the University of Sydney, a Master of Community Development from the University of Queensland, and a Bachelor of Behavioural Science. Driven by a deep commitment to healthy childhood development and personal experiences within her own network, Amelia committed to building Her Solid Ground after identifying a critical gap in affordable housing services for single mothers. Outside of her executive leadership, she mothers two young children and leads community care initiatives through her church.
Hayley Scolari
Services Director
Hayley Scolari is our Services Director, dedicated to ensuring every single mother in our care receives the holistic support they need to rebuild their lives. Hayley brings a powerhouse combination of heart and expertise to our team, holding a Master of Social Work and a Master of Mental Health Practice alongside her current work as a hospital social worker. Before entering the clinical space, she spent over ten years running a thriving health and wellbeing business, winning a Logan Business Distinction Award for her leadership in Medical and Health services. Hayley’s deep passion for our charity stems from her own journey as a single mother who experienced homelessness with her two daughters. Having walked in the shoes of the women we serve, Hayley is fiercely committed to creating the safe, compassionate spaces she once needed but couldn't find.
Riley King
Company Secretary
Riley King is our Company Secretary and an experienced class-action and corporate lawyer with over seven years of practice in the legal sector. Specialized in corporate accountability and risk management, Riley oversees our statutory compliance and ensures our board functions with total transparency. He is passionate about combining his legal acumen with social justice to build secure, legally sound pathways for families experiencing homelessness. When he isn’t managing corporate risk or practicing law, Riley is a dedicated father who loves spending time with his family outdoors.
