About Her Solid Ground
How it all began
Her Solid Ground started with a shared conviction and four people who refused to look away. Having experienced the invisible struggles of housing insecurity firsthand or through those closest to us, we watched family homelessness quietly rise in our community. When we saw vulnerable single mothers and their children left without a reliable safety net, we knew we couldn’t wait for someone else to step in. Seeing a critical gap in available support systems—and knowing that government resources are stretched thin—we asked a simple question: “Why not us?” Out of that shared commitment to build a better future, Her Solid Ground was born.
Our Vision and Mission
Vision: We stand for dignity, autonomy and stability as the solid ground every mother needs to create a hopeful future for her and her family.
Mission: Her Solid Ground walks alongside mothers experiencing housing insecurity, providing secure homes and structured supports to enhance their stability, independence and sense of self.
